Another Profitable Options Strategy – The Credit Spread
Today, I'm going to talk about another options strategy... the CREDIT SPREAD. This is actually a directional strategy, which means you have to be either bullish or bearish about a stock. Let's start with an example... Suppose you are a big iPhone fan and are extremely bullish about Apple (AAPL).
Iron Condors – My Favourite Option Strategy
In my previous post, I talked about compounding money at a rate of 5% per month... This may not sound like a lot, but if you understand the power of compounding, you'll appreciate that with 5% per month, your money will grow by about 79.5% in one year!!! I don't know about you, but I'll be pretty sa
How to accumulate a Million Dollars?
Over the years, whenever I tell my friends that I am going to be a millionaire, none of them really believe in me... But at least they are polite enough not to laugh at me in my face... though I seriously think most of them think I am dreaming an impossible dream... But, am I? Is it really possib

This blog has nothing to do with trading… but just wanna share my ‘joy’… As some of you may know… I’ve been using a HTC Dream (aka G1, the first phone running on Android OS) since May.. and I still totally love the phone… nothing can beat a phone that’s so highly customizable… well, maybe except another Android phone with much more impressive specifications… (read: Nexus One)
Anyway, I rooted my phone back in June and have been using a custom ROM (jf v1.51) since then… lately, I got ‘itchy’ and decided to flash a new ROM again… given that it has been 6 months since I last flashed a ROM, I forgot most of the steps… Anyway, I found some instructions on the web and hastily tried flashing… I was too impatient… somehow, the urge to upgrade my ROM was irresistible… (well, you can’t really blame me, because I was trying to flash to the new Hero ROM… that o’ so sexy Rosie/Touch Sense)… had the greatest scare of my life when my phone refused to boot up after flashing… to make things worse, I was supposed to go on vacation the next day (in fact, about 4 hours later)… I wanted so much to solve the problem before I leave for Taiwan, but I knew I needed to sleep… so unwillingly, I went to Taiwan thinking that I bricked my phone…
Luckily, I didn’t… the first thing I did when I returned home from Taiwan was to try to revive my G1… Long story short… I eventually managed to get it to boot again and today, I finally flashed the Hero ROM and managed to get it running smoothly… unbelievable…. the ROM is sooooo cool… and it runs so smoothly despite the fact that the G1 has about 100MB less RAM than the Hero… and best of all, this ROM allows me to zoom when taking photos or videos… that’s something that was lacking in my old ROM….
For those of you who may be interested (and also for my future reference)… Here’s my configuration:
Phone: HTC Dream Black
ROM: SenseHero v1.4 Unthemed + BFS 304 w/ 10MB Hack
Recovery:RA-dream-V1.5.2
SPL: Haykuro SPL
Radio: 2.22.19.26I

Wow… It seems like I’ve not blogged for a long time…. I’m still around, still determined to become a successful trader… still selling my iron condors and exploring forex trading… I’ve made some progress… but nothing to write home about… so I’m going to keep it confidential first… till I’m fully confident of revealing it…
Anyway, a quick update of what’s going on in my life…
I’m still selling iron condors… still my favorite option strategy (although I have some nagging concerns about it lately… talk more about that next time…).. Anyway, for the month of Nov, despite the roller coaster ride… I managed to break even with a small profit of $22.85 (embarrassingly negligible, but for small account holders like me, any profit is worth ‘bragging’)… For Dec, things were MUCH better… I didn’t need to monitor my positions closely… In fact, most of the time, I didn’t even bother checking my positions (cause I have already set some orders that will automatically trigger when necessary to help me adjust my trades)… For the month of Dec, I ended with a nice little profit of $1011.3…
As for Forex trading, I’m still trying to figure out my edge… like I mentioned above, I’ve made some progress… but nothing substantial yet… this year, I’m going to start seriously paper-trading forex… see how it goes….

- On a 15 min chart, look for bullish engulfing, bearish engulfing, hammer or shooting star candles after a clear trend (i.e. MA are sloping nicely and do not intertwine) [Note: Write EA to alert when such candlesticks are found]
- Check if there is any MACD divergence
- If there is, buy once MACD rises (for bullish reversal) or sell once MACD decreases (for bearish reversal)
- Target 3 to 4 times risk
